Dear GLORBIANS!
Heey dear community! All is well — we are busy bees and hustling hard. Quite a few of you requested knowing a bit more about us in our expanding team. In the previous update you got a glimpse of our manufacturing partners, and now we introduce more of the GLORB team. We also have some quick news, and another reminder to fill in the BackerKit surveys.

Meet: Hannes, Jana, Donnie, David & Simon
This update originally included longer interview-style introductions for each team member (education, work experience, hobbies, philosophy, and a message to backers). We’re keeping the full spirit of that here: we’re a small group of friends building GLORB together — and we’re grateful you’re on this journey with us.
- Hannes — design/communication + process leadership.
- Jana — hands-on factory/production support + hardware projects.
- Donnie — multimedia design/entrepreneurship + creative direction.
- David — research/technology perspective + building tools.
- Simon — web/product support + community-first mindset.
🔄 2) Some general news
🔜 120 pre-production units — delayed but coming soon
We hoped to have the 120 pre-production units made by now, but that was a bit too ambitious. We don’t want to stress the production too much — we want to send them to content creators and beta testers and get proper feedback before final touches.
🏭 Alex back in the factory (round #2)
Alex is back in China for a longer period (up to 2 months) to oversee pre-production units, test production-line efficiency, set up quality control for final production, review packaging, and more.
🪝 Cable-hook redesign
The cable hook included with GLORB has a new design intended to put less strain on the cable. We’ll share pictures in a future update.
📝 3) BackerKit update — 90% complete
BackerKit has stalled around 90% completion (missing a few hundred surveys). We’re sending reminder emails and will begin sending more frequent reminders and personal emails to those who haven’t completed them.
Please note: the survey closes around the end of August. If you haven’t completed your BackerKit survey by then, we won’t be able to send the GLORBs you’ve paid for together with the main shipments. If you complete the survey, your card will be charged for the BackerKit total amount shortly after the deadline — make sure funds are available.
